2000 – We sadly had to move locations for the event and found ourselves at Nottingham Uni – a very different set-up with attendees sequestered in different parts of the campus and meeting in the much more urban and modern surroundings – no giant staircases. One thing did not change – it rained throughout. The subject was Going Deeper, with our first YFR theme song – by Delirious. The logo was a diver to signify a desire for a deeper spiritual experience. Alan Toms gave a very stirring closing address.
2004 – Another new venue and this time it was the green valleys of Mid Wales – Cefn Lea Christian centre near Newtown, Powys. It rained for most of the event. The subject was Jesus 24/7, a call to continuous discipleship and our most conceptual logo to date which spawned a very successful line of merchandise.
2008 – Back to Cefn Lea for the second time. Hopes for better weather were dashed. The subject was Turn and See, a meditation on the apostle John’s apocalyptic vision of Christ from Rev. 1.
